Skills required by 21st Century Managers

Academic session of every university is running late in this year because of corona.  Most of the universities are conducting their final year’s exams, now in the month of September and will try to announce the result as soon as possible as per the guidelines of UGC.

We are already in the 4th stage of Unlock; there are very high chances that all the school and colleges will be functional with 100% capacity very soon. So, as soon as the result will be announced, students about to complete their graduation would look for admission in PG courses.  Management courses, such as MBA, are highly preferred by the students, who want to enter the corporate. Though, there are some specific academic skill set that one must have, but one should always focus on improving their personality characteristics, if they want to be known as a successful manager. These areas are-

1-Capacity of taking right decision at the right time

2-Having intellectual skills

3-Having leadership qualities

4-Knowing how to get things done by others

5-Proper planning of future activities

Above are the qualities that need to be cultivated among future managers so that they can perform all the assigned tasks in a required manner.

We, here at ITS, are conducting a regular Personality Development and Analytical Skill sessions for MBA students, through which the students learn how to analyze the situations, how to take decisions based on those situations and so on. They also improve their personality and communication skills during the sessions and after completing the two-year MBA Programme they become more confident. We also conduct foreign language classes along with regular classes on a weekly basis so that our MBA students become more preferable by the international organizations in the corporate world.

Significance of Online education during COVID-19

Significance of Online education during COVID-19

We all, the most of world’s population is staying at home for last few months and just passing the time in quarantine way. Every one is dealing with “pneumonia of unknown cause” started from Wuhan, and it changing itself again and again.  When WHO declared COVID-19 (known as 2019-nCoV) a pandemic, all schools, colleges, and universities were asked to shut down by the authorities. All the developed, developing and under developed countries are trying to fight with the same at their best. One unknown virus has brought the whole world to its knees.  Only available solution to this is prevention, but we need to keep it as our everyday practices. People have already stopped shaking hands, and students of various school and colleges have stopped attending to schools and colleges physically.

As we all know that this is a temporary but a long time situation, we need to use the time in a productive manner, and the only way available for the same is online education.

Online Education during COVID-19

With all school and colleges closures throughout the world, online learning is the only solution. So many online learning platforms recently started to provide education during the lockdown due to pandemic situations. Learning through Online platform will keep students   safe and will help them to keep up with the study.  During the pandemic situations due to coronavirus, anyone’s health is of most importance.

Being a responsible teaching organization, it automatically becomes very critical and essential to take all safety measurements to keep our students safe and healthy also to keep them updated in context of their studies.

So we are providing  all the instructions and guidance to all our students of Engineering and Management regarding online courses available on various online platforms  i.e Course era , NPTEL etc, here at ITS, engineering college, Greater Noida. This will surely enhance their subjective knowledge and also enable them to use their free time in a productive manner.

Restore that Mental Peace

Restore that Mental Peace

As the world has turned upside down due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, many of us are desperately yearning for a respite from the uncertainty, upheaval, and anxiety brought about by it. We’re longing to calm down our stressed-soaked inner chatter and soothe our frayed nerves.

We’re craving to release our physical, emotional, and mental tension. We’re yearning for a genuine breather, a break from the gamut of responsibilities and the reality that many things have changed. Many of the things we love and have relied on for comfort, soothing, and healing are no longer an option.

In short, every one of us can benefit from a week (or month) long vacation. But since this isn’t possible for most of us, we can focus on what isengaging in small activities and practices that help us to unwind throughout the day. You’ll find these ideas below. Set a timer for 10 minutes, and brainstorm other ways you can chill out in small windows of time.

WALK BAREFOOT

Walking in the grass, sand, dirt, or soil can help you to connect to the calming and nourishing energy of the earth, since our bodies are made of similar elements of the earth—such as water, air— and walking barefoot are ways you can restore yourself mindfully.

RELISH EVERYDAY BEAUTY

Allow yourself to be curious about the beautiful things you see on a regular basis. For example, observe a flower’s petals or touch them to see how they feel. Watch the clouds pass, imagining yourself jumping from one to the next. Listen to the outdoor and indoor sounds of the morning. Feel the warmth of your little one’s hands.

TAKE TEN DEEP BREATHS

Count each breath on the inhale. Also, keep your exhales several seconds longer than your inhales.

PRACTICE CO-REGULATION

This is simply holding hands with friend or partner who is calm and relaxed to help you tune into their energy. Think of someone you feel comfortable with, who has a soothing voice and gentle, calming manner.

MASSAGE YOUR HANDS

Washing your hands, applying hand cream, and massaging the palm of each hand and fingers for about 20 seconds each can help break up any stale, congested energy while increasing your breathing. Notice when you massage your hands, your breath tends to get deeper in the lower abdomen area (and lungs) where your calming nerves are. Massaging your feet is also a great way to ease tension.

MASSAGE YOUR TEMPLES

If you can afford, apply lavender essential oil to your index and middle fingers. Then moving clockwise massage your temples. To enhance your relaxation, put on some spa-like or nature sounds, classical music, or your favourite relaxing tunes.

PRACTICE SAVASANA

During this corpse pose, close your eyes and picture any thoughts that arise as autumn leaves traveling down the river. You also might move from your feet to your head, tensing and relaxing different muscle groups as you make your way from bottom to top.

PLAY WITH PAINT

Use any paint you have on hand, and grab a canvas or thick piece of paper. Instead of focusing on creating a specific image, simply glide your paintbrush from left to right, right to left. Or get out any art supplies you have and simply start doodling or sketching, cutting or gluing.

Unwinding will look different for everyone. And the strategies that help you relax will differ depending on the day and the extent of your anxiety or stress levels. So explore and experiment. Play around with an assortment of techniques, noting what helps and what doesn’t.

Ultimately, don’t judge yourself for needing rest or comfort. Don’t criticize yourself for needing to slow down and take a break. Incorporate small, soothing activities into your everyday, so they become small, soothing rituals that help you to relax and refresh.

Future of FinTech: Innovative Business Model for Financial Inclusion

Financial knowledge is very essentially required as a skill in any manager of the 21st century. Managers should understand the financial implications of their decisions and how to use financial information to improve their company’s performance. And undoubtedly, financial inclusion is a part of it.

Financial Inclusion means any method of providing banking services and financial solutions to everyone without discrimination. So we can conclude that when we try to include every individual of the society by providing them basic financial services without checking their personal income or savings, it is nothing but financial inclusion only. Only middle and high classes of the society used to avail all the credit facilities earlier and people with lower income were asked to go for informal and substandard forms of credit. Most of them were uneducated without the basic knowledge about finance so they got cheated by the rich people of the society very easily

The government of India is using UPI (Unified Payment Interface), National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT),Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) to make digital financial transactions in the current scenario.

Private companies also trying to contribute in financial inclusion through different initiatives. They are planning and implementing different projects particularly for the low-income groups of peoples like E- Sagar by ITC,HaryaliKisan Bazaar by DCM etc.

Role of FinTech in Financial inclusion

We as an individuals are also using fintech options like digital payment systems, electronic wallets. People from rural and urban areas are using above innovative and easy to learn options of banking. Also those who are not able to use theses independently are trying to learn and use them.

To keep our management students updated, here at ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida, we organized a national conference on FinTech, where we invited guests from the academic and corporate world, who shared their knowledge, views and real life experience with the students.

How Entrepreneurship Projects are Gaining pace in Education Industry

Education plays a very important role in everyone’s life. Good education means that it is never a certification and getting a job in a reputed and recognized organization or institution, although it also means having a good and social person in life. Technological innovations are having a significant impact on educational systems at all levels. Online courses, teaching aids, educational software, social networking tools, and other emerging technologies are disrupting the traditional classroom environment. As the technological based solutions are used in education sector widely so it open new opportunities for students to learn and grow.

How Entrepreneurship Projects are Gaining pace in Education Industry

With good technological inputs we get tremendous ideas. So here at this level, education industry has introduced a concept of Entrepreneurship Development. EntrepreneurshipDevelopment Cell (EDC) in educational institutions is formed to develop institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture in academics and to foster technology based entrepreneurship for generation of wealth and employment for students.

To harness brilliant ideas of students and to promote self-hostedsuccessful business projects, Colleges like ITS Engineering College, Amity, Galgotias etc. are spending tons of money on Research as well as Seed Funding, Entrepreneurship Development and Project based and Technology based learning. Even the Indian government has also formed separate ministries for Entrepreneurship skills enhancements like Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NewGen IEDC)  to cater innovative and impactful ideas and help students to move ahead in their career and achieve their dreams. If the student has aimpactful idea that meets the threshold set forth by this bunch, then Seed funding is a no strings attached grant under MSME guidelines. Only few selected colleges in North India are under this scheme.

Highly motivated young graduates and post graduates, who want to start companies while still in their colleges, have such an increasing number of resources to tap into that exist just for them. Students that want to learn how to build companies, can apply to an increasing number of fast-track programs that allow them to gain valuable early stage operating experience.

Investing in technology for universities in India may conjure up images of laptops and tablets being delivered to masses, but the greatest ROI in higher education technology comes from software rather than hardware. So to cater this side of technical education, colleges have technology based Industry Oriented Labs, also known as Centre of Excellence, to support students for technical aspects which they will need to introduce fresh ideas. Some of the top companies who have setup such labs are Apple iOS, R Systems, Syscom, ITB &SALT, National Instrumentation etc.Entrepreneurship Development can assist students in the early stage development of your business start-up or social enterprise, invest in market research, or to develop a prototype. So in Nutshell the objective of Entrepreneurship Development Cells in Colleges is to develop spirit of Entrepreneurship among the Students, Creating Awareness Programmes, Mentoring Students, Assisting in getting financial support for Start-ups.

Coronavirus is no more an epidemic

Coronavirus is no more an epidemic; the World Health Organization has termed it a pandemic. The last panoramic witnessed by the world was in 1918 with the Spanish Flu killed millions of people. So are we headed towards the same destructive phase? The question has no answer yet because there is no vaccination developed so far for the novel Coronavirus. The only thing we all can do is stay safe and work for community protection.
Sharing with all a list of precautions we all can do to stay protected from this deadly disease –
Social Isolation – Coronavirus spread with a human touch so we all must avoid being in crowded places. The government of India and many state governments have ordered the closure of schools, colleges, multiplexes, gyms, spas, swimming pools and all those places where people gather in large numbers. So while you are opting to work from home or staying indoors, you can use this time constructively to enrich your professional skills and join some online e-learning course.
Eat a balanced diet and exercise – Health Practitioners all over the world are warning people to work on the immunity if they wish to defeat Coronavirus. This virus has been impacting elderly people and those having problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Even though the immunity cannot be increased with a magic wand but the best way to work on your immune system is to eat a balanced diet, sleep well and exercise at least 45 minutes a day.
Avoid travel – Safety first; celebrations later! Most of the global conferences have been cancelled in wake of Coronavirus so if you had planned to travel abroad, this is the time to cancel it. You can travel within India via safer means like taking a cab rather than a bus or choose to travel by Express train.
Get your Covid-19 test done – The symptoms of Coronavirus infection include cough, cold, high fever or difficulty in breathing. If you see such symptoms in your family member or any friends, advise them to get their Covid-19 testing done from an approved Lab or Medical Institution certified by the Indian Council of Medical Research. Such a person should be kept in quarantine for 14 days. The state governments are paying for the expenses of treatment for such patients.
Practice Good Hygiene – Wash your hands at least 5 times a day with an alcohol-based hand-wash solution or sanitizer. Cover your mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing. Follow good hygiene to keep yourself and your family safe from this deadly disease. We must stop spreading any fake information. Let’s defeat the fear and panic. Let’s defeat Coronavirus with compassion and patience.www.itsengg.edu.in

Brand Yourself. Think Big. Achieve Big.

No one bargains in a Nike shop. No one compares the price of Mont Blanc with any ordinary pen. Why? Simply because these products have built a brand name for themselves! So can humans brand themselves? YES! Each one of us can brand ourselves and create a lucrative career owing to that brand value. Let us tell you how you can brand yourself –
First of all, you need to understand that it’s a practical world and you will continue to lag behind if you assume yourself as the mango people whose lives are consumed in just working for the basic necessities. Start finding out things that make you unique. What is that one thing which you excel at? What is that one forte where no one else can beat you? Once you know the answers, you will understand in what aspect you can brand yourself.Well, most of the youth limit themselves because they don’t believe in their big dreams, which are somehow unrealistic or impossible for the society, so they don’t trust themselves that they can achieve or big dreams. Often, young people keep their dreams in check because they don’t want to be disappointed. This is negative behavior which would make you settle for less. Identify if you are also doing the same with your dreams; it’s time to change now.
Do you know all Self-Made Billionaires and Successful People Started With A DreamOut of many secrets, the biggest secret of all self made Billionaires was simple “dream big”. Allow yourself to be carried away by your dreams, imagine and fantasize about your dreams and goals.  Your life is too precious to be spent pursuing small dreams. Dream big so that you can reach your full potential
Begin now –Penning down your dreamsThe hustling schedule can make you forget about your dreams, so you constantly need to remind yourself about dreaming big and achieving your dreams. Write down your dreams and put the note somewhere where it is constantly in front of you.Write your future bio in 100-150 wordsWhat do you think you will be? What is it that you want to become? Writing your future bio will be a constantly motivating factor. What will people say about you? The written word is one of the fastest ways to bring in big dreams.
Be ready to work for your dreams“Going after a dream has a price. It may mean abandoning our habits, make us go through hardships, or it may lead us to disappointment etc. But however costly it may be, it is never as high as the price paid by the people who didn’t live. Don’t quit. Don’t quit, because with each passing day you will be closer to your goal than you are now.
Act nowDreams don’t work unless you do. Make things happen. This is easy for the students of coveted colleges like ITS Engineering College where regular corporate training, grooming and mentoring sessions are held. Such sessions help the youth to focus on themselves. They learn the corporate etiquettes during their student life. They learn how to lead in corporate setting and live a life beyond mundane.
ITS Engineering College is one of the best private engineering colleges of North India with a vibrant and state-of-the-art campus. ITS Engineering College youth is known for creating success. Not surprising that ITS Engineering College’s youth are getting between 3 to 12 LPA as their pay packages during campus placement drives!
ITS Engineering College has become the breeding ground for success brand of youth!www.itsengg.edu.in

8 Greatest Challenges Faced By Our Engineering Education System

Engineering is the first choice of every second young girl or boy in India. The reason is the high employability quotient, respect and plenty of job as well as growth opportunities associated with engineering field. However, it’s not easy to take admission into one of the best engineering colleges of UP. And if you do not take admission in a top engineering college and choose to do B. Tech from any tier-2 or tier-3 engineering institution, you will have to struggle with:
1. Ordinary Campus not Preferred by RecruitersRecruiters are more willing to offer a well-paying job to students from top-rated campuses rather than to someone from a tier-2 college who has scored higher marks and has more talent. This way more deserving candidates are often left behind.
2. Preference given to Big InstitutionsStudents who deserve a rightful employability badge may very well be from any of the tier-2 colleges but they won’t get preference in career and promotion because they do not carry the brand name of a top engineering college.
3. No Proper TrainingOnly the best engineering colleges in UP like ITS Engineering College ensure proper training and internship for their students to bridge the skills gap.  Other colleges fall behind in providing technical skills, logical ability, quantitative ability & essential communication skills and more.
4.Expert Faculty and World-Class Resources MissingCurrently in the country, there is a serious dearth of well educated, reliable, qualified and sound educators.  Holding a PhD in the subject doesn’t suffice. One has to keep up with industry standards and demands as well. The faculty of Engineering College is the biggest pull for students who wish to do a B. Tech that helps them evolve and grow in global industry.
5.Good Placement MissingA large number of engineering colleges in India lack a proper channel of student placement. They have a placement cell but nobody to run it efficiently. There is no one to make our students ready to be picked by the biggest names in the industry. ITS Engineering College, on the other hand, is known for its regular and highly successful placement drives.
6.Syllabus is not updated as regularly as it should beMost of the engineering colleges in India continue to ignore the industry demands and follow just the old patterns and pedagogy.
7.Severe lack of LIVE ProjectsStudents of Engineering Colleges should be given opportunity to take part in LIVE projects that would help them get ready for industry experience.
8.No international content or material that creates awareness about international practices and standardswww.itsengg.edu.in

Be The Best You: 7 Keys To A Positive Personality

Each one of us is capable of making a difference to the world; if only we are ready to tap within and realize our true being, true potential and unfolding our infinite capabilities. It’s easier said than done but there is no denying the fact that life is joyous, peaceful and fulfilling for those who have a positive personality. Being positive means seeing the good in everything and every situation. It also means choosing to praise more than criticizing. So here we are sharing with you 7 keys to a positive personality that will help you become the best version of you; which is the real purpose of life.Be ThankfulPositive people are grateful for all small and big joys. Gratitude is an attitude that we all must cultivate and it is so very easy to nurture gratefulness. You can start by maintaining a Gratitude Diary of Journal and writing just three things every day that made you thankful for the day.
Do away with the habit of Expecting ResultsMost of us crib and complain when actual actions or results don’t match our expectations. So doing away with the expectation of results will help you stay in a positive zone. As per Hindu scriptures, this is called focusing on Karma and ignoring the ‘result’.
Drop your fearsIt’s just the fear that stops a man or a woman from reaching the pinnacle of success. The first step to dropping your fears is to confess that there are certain things you are afraid of! Like an entrepreneur can be scared of expansion. Or an engineer can be scared of job change! They won’t be able to grow in life until they stick to their fear.
Accept ChallengesComing out of your comfort zone is the biggest sign of a positive attitude. Take up challenges in life and put in your best; make sure to remember that you don’t have to expect or predict the results. This will make you more positive towards life.
Accept CriticismDo not try to be everyone’s favourite; rather accept harsh words said about you with dignity and grace. This would wash off all the negativity within.
Maintain an active lifestyleJoin a yoga, gym or cycling club. Go for a walk. Spend time with Nature. Rather than losing yourself in thoughts; doing some work-out or physical activity produces feel-good hormones.
Share and CareSharing and caring are the best way to cultivate a positive attitude and personality. The more abundantly you share your earnings or things; the more blessed you feel and get.
